instructions

1. Attach top bodice pieces at each shoulder

2. Attach facing to finish off the neckline:

+ Place facing on neckline (good sides together) and sew it down

+ Cut a diagonal line into each corner

+ Flip facing behind the neckline and sew in place

3. Gather the top of each ruffled bottom piece:

+ Sew a line across the top, but don’t backstitch at the end.

+ Grab the loose threads at the end and pull the fabric along them to gather until the top of the bottom ruffles matches the width of the top bodice.

+ Pin the top bodice & ruffled bottom pieces together (good sides together) and sew down

4. Hem the bottom edges of each ruffled bottom piece

5. Attach the ties:

+ Fold each tie piece in half (good sides together, long edges touching) and sew down

+ Use a safety pin to pull each tie right side out

+ Tuck each short edge into the tube and sew down

Try your top on to determine tie placement. Pin ties to each side of the bodice at these points.

6. Hem the two sides of the bodice, attaching the ties as you sew down.
