bow legwarmers

these legwarmers are the quickest & cutest project in your queue right now! stitching half double crochet through the back loop only creates a textured rib effect. the legwarmers are crocheted in a rectangle, seamed together, and then embellished with a ruffle and bow.

measurements

8 inches long total, 6 inches long with top folded down

11 inch circumference (not including stretch)

pattern includes instructions to make project longer or wider if desired.

materials

1 skein aran weight yarn (size 4) optional: yarn scraps in

contrasting color for the bow 5mm crochet hook

stitch marker/safety pin to mark round tapestry needle to seam

gauge

13 stitches by 11 rows = 4x4 inches

Use 5mm hook and half double crochet stitch

abbreviations

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

hdc - half double crochet

blo - back loop only

rep -repeat

bow legwarmers pattern

leg

27ch
(optional: ch more stitches here if you would like a longer legwarmer.)

row 1 - starting with the 2nd ch from hook, 1hdc into each ch
row 2 - 1hdcblo in each hdc
rep row 2 for 20 rows total (optional: rep more rows for a wider legwarmer)

using an invisible seam, connect the 1st and last rows to create the tube. roll the top of the legwarmer down 2 inches

ruffle

connect yarn to the bottom of the legwarmer and place a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round

row 1 - 1sc in every stitch row 2 - rep (1sc, 2sc) row 3 - 2sc in every stitch

cut yarn, finish off, and weave in all ends

bow

ch for 12-14 inches
cut yarn & weave in ends
tie chain into a bow and stitch onto the flap of the legwarmer
